"Natural disasters, diplomatic ineptitude, medical malpractice, and gas prices that are rising faster than Hannah Montana's DVD sales dominate the daily headlines.  Sure, Jon Stewart helps dull the pain, but sometimes you need to be in the company of live human beings who help you grapple with the issues.  And let's face it, giggling always makes grappling easier.  Enter . . . MOSAIC, a performance described as covering the territory between performance art and sketch comedy.  There are songs, skits, puppets, and guessing games.  The four-person show moves at the clip of a ticker on the bottom of your favorite cable news channel and may even address some of the same topics.  It's performed every Saturday at 7 p.m. at ImprovBoston."

"It's easy to know which Broadway blockbusters are passing through downtown theaters -- the TV commercials, full-page newspaper ads, and taxi-top signs are impossible to miss.  It already feels like we've had our fill of "Spamalot," and the show hasn't even opened.  While the behemoth productions  -- complete with hefty ticket prices -- duke it out, somewhere around 150 small theater companies in Greater Boston are also mounting shows, performing in venues you may not even know exist . . ."
Developed by . . . performers, the skits are spiked with the players' insights, putting a personal touch on global concerns.  "It's a show about the world we look at, and everything is filtered through who we are as performers," explains . . . Mike Manship.  "It's an asset to let the audience see through to who you are.  If I didn't have the hope that people would connect to what we're doing, I wouldn't do it."
"1) MOSAIC    It's Sunday night, it's getting late, the headlines are grim and your schedule for the coming week is hectic.  You could use a laugh.  You can find it at ImprovBoston, now that SouthCity is in the midst of a return stint of "Mosaic," a frenetic medley of political commentary, social satire, and personal memoir, topped with a dash of improv . . .

"For you deep thinkers, MOSAIC may provide the missing link between the collage-making Dadaists of old and today's cyberbabies -- between good-old-fashioned artistic inspiration and interactive entertainment, found art and the propoganda of corporate-owned media.  For you surface-scratchers, the . . . latest production will just be bunches of fun."
